Happy Thanksgiving!
Take time to relax and enjoy the holiday with your family, friends, or whoever else you celebrate with. Try not to think about the election or Donald Trump. If you are a split-political family, I feel sorry for you and hope that you and your loved ones can get past that. We are lucky enough to have a family that largely agrees with or at least understands our views and ideologies.
We hope that you’ll come back from Thanksgiving ready to join us in the fight to protect our rights and save our country from a particular orange monster trying to destroy it.

We are doing some things to make us and others thankful. We live behind the invisible Great Blue Wall that runs along the Pacific Coast and there is little opportunity for us to be politically active in ways that will do much beyond what will only be preaching to the choir. Hence we have decided to contribute dollars to organizations to help empower them to do good work in places where it really needs to be done. We have donated to ACLU, the NAACP, and the Southern Poverty Law Center and sent a note to Jefferson Sessions informing him that he was the inspiration for those contributions because we hope to do all we can to help stand in the way of his hatefulness should he be confirmed as the Attorney General. (The SPLC will even match our contribution and send him a Christmas card informing him the donation is dedicated to him.) We also contributed to Planned Parenthood who sent a card to Mike Pence informing him the donation was made in his name. (Our understanding is that Mikey is going to be receiving over 300,000 such cards.) and we are sending Elizabeth Warren $10 every month to help fund her good work. We are very thankful that we have the wherewithal to be able to do this, please join us if you can. If you are unable to contribute to all of these organization then pick the one closest to your heart, or some other organization you consider critical to the struggle for justice and the environment and contribute to them. The time is here for struggle,if this Republic is going to go down then let us resolve to make the job of those who would destroy it as difficult as possible. As Frederick Douglass said on his deathbed it is time to “Agitate!!…Agitate!!…Agitate, Agitate!!!”
